An Incident told to me by crazyred121 (blogger) (LP Thuad)

I would like to thank crazyred121 for writing to me and telling me about her personal experience with LP Tuad. I would also like to thank her for giving me permission (without my asking for it) to post her experience in my blog.

1) She is a Singaporean female enthusiast/fan of Thai amulets. It is truly rare to find a girl like her in Singapore who can appreciate Thai amulets.

"Hello! I read your blog and came to learn about the history of LP Tuad. indeed after reading about this great monk, I begin to respect and understand why LP Tuad is so widely respected...
He has such a compassionate heart to bless those worthy of his help & protection even though some of them are wearing fake amulets.
You can post this incident if you like. On Sept 2004, I cannot recall the date, I was sitting on my friend's bike and this guy and girl was on another bike. Both bikes were speeding at PIE when this taxi crashed sideway to the other bike. I watch with my own eyes the girl who is my close friend fly out of the bike while the guy slide over a long distance with the bike. Thanks god there was no cars behind us if not... The taxi crashed into them so hard and seeing her flying in the air like that, I thought she is going to die.
She and her bf substained injuries and her bf had a few stiches on his legs.Both are otherwise, safe and sound. Both are wearing LP Tuad amulets. the guy just put the amulet which he got THAT day in his t-shirt pocket. the crash has his helmet flying off his head but the big impact did not make the amulet drop out.
Hence, I believe LP Tuad saved my friends. Even the docters were amazed that they did not suffer a broken arm or leg."

Amulets of LP Tuad

Johnson's (my friend) M16 batch of LP Tuad (owned by him at time of this blog posting; this amulet is made by Arjaan Nong, a Thai guru Buddhist monk. According to Johnson, this amulet is not a re-make batch)

LP Thuad amulets are (based on my knowledge and research) known for the following powers:
1) Protection from accidents (such as traffic accidents and even natural disasters and so on)
2) Protection from all sorts danger (such as gunfire)
3) Protection from black magic and any form of offensive spells
4) Protection from evil spirits, demons and other hostile malevolent other-wordly entities


Some reported incidents of Amulets of LP Thuad's image:


1) In the beginning of 1963AD, Lokhunpakpaliang in Thailand was hit by typhoon. The resulting floods caused great loss to the population who were mostly fishermen. Houses were swept away, numerous people were wounded, reported missing and lost their lives. Those wearing the images of LP Thuad were apparently safe and sound. This is reputed to be a well-known incident witnessed by many people.

2) A bus on the Singora-Haadyai route fell into a deep chasm due to the very dangerous roads in the mountains. All passengers were unharmed and it was later found that all of them were wearing the images of LP Thuad. The Thai newspapers has published many of such news from time to time. To the faithful, this is proof of the supernormal powers of LP Thuad as well as the greatness of the Buddhist religion.

3) One incident I came across online related that a certain batch of his amulets reportedly protected someone from M-16 gunfire. That batch of LP amulets became known as the "M-16" LP Thuad amulets in amulet circles.

Magic Chant/Kartha of Pra Pidtta

Believed to grant the user all sorts of paranormal/psychic/magic powers, chants are used when one wishes to activate the power of the amulet. (Chants are also used for other reasons, for example, in prayers. Chants can also be used when there is no amulet present at hand)

This is the chant I have to share with you all for Pra Pidtta (please see my earlier posts regarding this type of amulet) (this is a generic Pidtta chant):

Namo Tasa Pakawtor Arahator Samma
Samput Tasak (chant entire paragraph/stanza 3 times)

Pi Yo Tay Wa Ma, Nok Sa Nam
Pi Yo Prom Ma Na, Mu Tar Mo

Hit Chi Tang Pi Yang Mak Mak (chant entire paragraph/stanza 3 times)

Certain Pidtta (also written as "Pidta") have their own specific special chants. To find out what they are, ask the guru monk or spiritual master or magician who made it for you.

Use this generic chant in times of great danger or peril, and if your cause be just, your heart be pure and sincere, the Power of Pidta (the Buddhist Saint) will protect you.

The Tok Raja (Pictures)

Legend of "Botak Chin" (Tok Raja's Pidtta)

According to Malaysian high-profile criminal records, "Botak Chin" as he was widely known, was a notorious gangster and robber of the 1970s. He was criticized by the authorities for being a self-styled "Robin Hood".

It was rumoured that "Botak Chin" wore a 2480BE (ie: 1937 AD) batch Tok Raja pidtta and takrut( a kind of encased spell scroll, also made by Tok Raja). So whenever the police tried to arrest "Botak Chin", he could always suddenly disappear or be able to evade their vision.

It was believed this was because of the power brought by the Tok Raja pidtta. Pidttas are known to provide great protection, avoid danger and the ability to run off from your enemy(Pidtta used 2 hands to close eyes and face). "Botak Chin" was also rumoured to be invulnerable to bullets and weapons such as knives.

After repeated failures to arrest "Botak Chin", the Police had no choice but to seek Tok Raja for help. It was believed that with Tok Raja's assistance, the police finally managed to apprehend "Botak Chin".

For his notorious crimes, "Botak Chin" was sentenced by the Malaysian courts to execution by hanging.

"Botak Chin" had a final request: that he be allowed to wear his Tok Raja Pidtta during the execution.

The judger denied his request but promised to return him his Pidtta after it is confirmed that he is really dead.

After this high-profile incident of abuse, Tok Raja did not like to give out Pidtta amulets to the public. He did not want the public to abuse the power of this amulet. Tok Raja thus only gave the Pidtta amulet to whom he trusted. This remained so until Tok Raja passed away.

Tok Raja's Pidtta amulets are highly sought after by those doing 'informal' businesses like discotheques and pubs (for eg, the owners, managers and bouncers of discotheques and pubs), loan-sharking, drug-smuggling, running gambling dens and so on.

The Pidtta 2480BE made by Tok Raja can said to be the Pidtta king ofPidtta amulets. Amulet collectors also eagerly seek this Pidtta amulet because this batch of amulets is reputedly effective for wearing (ie: it is powerful), and worth it to collect(it has amulet collector's monetary investment value).

Tok Raja Pidtta

For Malaysians in the amulet circle, the Tok Raja needs no introduction. He is well known and even well respected by the Sultan of Kelantan.

Here is some information I got from a Singaporean Thai amulet forum (with major editing by me for stlye and expression):

In the jungles of Malaysia and Thailand, there is a kind of tree which can release a kind of gas to protect itself. In Malaysia, it is known literally as the "Paint Tree"(translated from Mandarin). This kind of tree has a natural mechanism in protecting itself: it will release a kind of acidic gas that keeps human beings and wild animals away. It is a sophisticated form of natural chemical warfare and protective mechanism. If a human passes-by the tree, his body will feel itchy and swollen.

The sap (liquid) of "paint tree" is red in color, and when it dries, it will turn into black. If a human being uses his hands to touch the sap of the tree, he will feel hurt by what feels like hot acid. In serious cases, his skin will be burnt.

Tok Raja planned to use the sap of this particular tree to make amulets. He believed that since this kind of tree is good in self-protection, if he used the sap, together with his own powerful chant in the process of amulet-creation, these amulets would bring great protection to the wearer.

Therefore, Tok Raja decided to use the sap of the "Paint Tree" to make pidtta amulets because he knows pidtta can bring great protection and avoidance of danger by its wearer. The Pidtta mould/design of amulets by itself is supposed to grant the wearer protective powers.

It was believed that when Tok Raja used his own hands (without protective gloves) to get the sap (liquid) from the "paint tree", he was not hurt by the sap's acid, and the amulet(made by the sap of "Paint Tree") wearer will also not have any infection on his skin.

As Pidtta Amulet (from "Paint Tree" sap) was made by Tok Raja personally with his own hands (and not mass-produced by factories), the quantity of these amulets is relatively small, and its price consequently high.

Disclaimer: I am in no way suggesting that the above story is factually true. One may regard it as a popular rumour that has been circulating. This is not to say that rumours have no element of truth =)

I first heard of the legend of this amulet from a private collector (who has since become my friend) by the name of "Johnson". From what I gather, this is a widely circulated story in amulet circles (and perhaps also by the general Malaysian public at large) during that time in the 1970s and 1980s.

Since I do not have permission from the owner (who purports to own a genuine piece of this amulet) to publish the photo of this particular amulet, due to the need to uphold copyright laws, it is unfortunate that I am not able to show its photo here.

However, I am able to show you my friend's (Johnson) pidtta which according to him has been blessed by Tok Raja (please note that Tok Raja probably did not make this amulet, but it is stated by my friend that the great guru blessed it).

This photo was taken at a coffee shop in Bugis. I met Johnson and his (then) fiance (now his wife) there. This explains why the photo isn't very well-taken.

According to Wayne (another friend of mine), this amulet has a strong sucking power, which seems to substantiate the claim that it was blessed by Tok Raja. Not many gurus are able to bless amulets to the extent of such power that has been felt by Wayne. My friend Wayne has the ability to "feel" the power of amulets and other blessed items. His ability is such that at times he could see images in his mind when he is in the process of "feeling" the amulet's power. When Wayne first felt the power of this amulet, he was surprised by the "strong sucking" force of it. It is believed by some amulet hobbyists that pidttas absorb luck (both good and bad). This view appears to be somewhat substantiated.

Another interesting thing I wish to relate about this amulet is: Johnson's supernaturnal experience while wearing it. He has described to me that the amulet has functioned for him as a form of "Blue Tooth" (wireless handphone). He has told me that while he was wearing it, once he could hear his handphone ringing even though it had been put to silent mode and it was a distance away in a gym locker. Johnson was then having a gym workout.

On another occasion, while he was wearing the amulet, he asked his friend to verify if his handphone (which has been put to silent and non-vibrating mode) was ringing. His friend was astonished about how he knew about it. He attributed it to this amulet he was wearing. When I asked him what did the ringing sound like, he described it as a sort of normal handphone ringing tone that is somewhat faint yet audible that resonated in his mind.

Just in case the cynical reader might think that I am advertising for this amulet, let me assure you that I am not. In fact, because I believe that it is a powerful amulet, I have made known to Johnson to consider selling it to me should he wish to let it go. (In other words, I want this amulet for myself hehe =) )

He was initially willing to sell it to me. But he changed his mind when he tested its power again.

The latest news I heard is that he is reconsidering selling it (one of the reasons being, he wished to get back some money to help out with his wedding expenses), but to another friend of his who is willing to pay more than what I am prepared to. I hope his friend doesn't get this amulet from him as I wish to have it myself =)

Legend of Phra Pidtta

What is "Phra Pidtta"?

"Phra" in Thai means "amulet", or "venerable", depending on its context. (anyone well-versed in Thai, please correct me. Thanks!)

"Pidtta" is a generic name for those amulets with this design:
1) it is an amulet depicting a Buddhist saint, sitting in a half-lotus or full lotus meditative sitting position, covering his entire face with his hands.

What the amulet design signifies and its reputed powers:
1) Being free from the worldly attachments of man's desires (from his 5 or 6 senses)
2) Divine Protection from the worldly temptations
3) Protection from one's enemies, such as Invisibility from Enemies (signified by the covering of the monk saint's eyes)
4) Invulnerability (or Impenetrability) to weapons (eg: knives)
5) Protection from Black magic
6) Protection from malevolent/evil spirits and other lower-level astral entities
7) Evasion of danger and from one's enemies


According to my research, there are many variations on how this design of amulets came about.

This is one version:

There once was a formidable fighter named Bagawan (or Bakawan) who lived in a village. After his wanderings (presumedly to test his fighting abilities), he returned to his village. During his wanderings he had converted to Buddhism.

After his return, for those who wanted to take revenge on him (for reasons I am unable to determine), he accepted it. He would just cover his face and let his enemies and former enemies beat him, accepting his bad karma.
